Howdy, I’m Daniel. I lead technical product work for Microsoft’s Decentralized Identity initiative. In general, I enjoy developing open platforms that advance the daily lives of users and devs in ethical ways. Before Microsoft, I founded a startup out of college, then spent half a decade fighting for the Web at Mozilla. I’m an outspoken libertarian who is passionate about human freedom and individual liberty.

As for code and standards projects: I created the open source Sidetree DID protocol at the heart of ION (a Layer 2 DID network), previously participated in development of various W3C specs, including Web Components and Web Payments, authored X-Tag (a Web Components library), and continue to work on decentralized identity standards through participation in the Decentralized Identity Foundation and the W3C CCG.
